Postcard Of Lindos, Rhodes

Lindos, Rhodes

On the lovely Greek island of Rhodes is the spectacular village of Lindos with it's acropolis at the top of the hill while the whitewashed cottages cling to the side

I remember staying in a small fisherman's cottage towards the back of the village and having a memorable time. This is actually a postcard I sent to my mother.

Hastings Castle, East Sussex Postcard

Picture

Postcard of Hastings Castle, Hastings, East Sussex, England. To quote from Wikipedia:

"Immediately after landing in England in 1066 William of Normandy ordered three fortifications to be built, Pevensey Castle in September 1066, Hastings (before the Battle of Hastings) and Dover, a few days after the battle. Hastings Castle was originally built as a motte-and-bailey castle near the sea. In 1070 William had issued orders for the Castle to be rebuilt in stone, along with the St Mary's Chapel."

Strawberries From Finland Postcard

Postcard of strawberries

This postcard is from Finland, not too sure why the picture is of strawberries. Well I wasn't until I read the Fresh! From Finland website where they write

"Finnish strawberries have been rated the world’s best thanks to the Northern growing conditions that make flavours very intense. Finns love their juicy and sweet strawberries, which you can find at every marketplace from late June on."

So looks like their strawberries must be something special!
